[Elecraft] I got lucky

Hi Folks,

Well, it was inevitable,.  I got on 14.024.00 and hollered CQ on a pretty
dead band with my spiffy K2 and its new 20W antenna tuner into a R7 vertical
with the top at about 50 feet that I just got up in the air.  Lo and behold,
Jack, W5WSF came back with a call!  I was just like a little kid.  The thing
works!  It'll reach New Orleans with not very good band conditions.  As soon
as Jack heard "K2", he immediately shut down the TenTec and got on with his
K2 and new KDSP2.  Both sounded just like my TS950SDX, and worked just as
well.  It was a brief QSO, cuz I think the signal strength said the band was
just about to shut down.

There's gotta be something special about the first QSO between 2 K2's!  I'll
always remember my first QSO as a Novice, talking to Moscow, USSR with a
 1 -Watt homebrew rig and a dipole up 20 feet, and my first K2 QSO this
evening.

Elecraft has to be getting rich.  There are K2's and K1's EVERYWHERE!  I'm
helping fill their coffers with a KDSP2 also.  We're all better off because
the guys at Elecraft are giving us super-quality gear that hasn't ever been
available in kit form.  Heathkit stuff was neat, but it wasn't really
high-performance electronics.. Elecraft gear is Collins quality and features
in kit form!

I'm thrilled!  I'm 60 years old, for gosh sakes!
