Oh man, right up my alley my friend. Did you actually manage to score
an Elba, or did you do something else?

As far as getting at the sound hardware, I know Linux, but I'm
unfortunately not awfully familiar with the ELBA. Still, I suspect
you've got a mixer application in there somewhere (probably
aumix). Only problem is...I don't know if there's character-mode PSK
software available. If there is, I'd love for someone to let me know,
too. 

Barring that though, I don't see why something along the lines of a
Natronics Kam won't do the job. Only thing is, I don't think they do
PSK--but they do other stuff. Someone else can tackle the TNC end of
things--I'm woefully out of touch--but your computer should have a
terminal program, which should work fine with any TNC that has its own
smarts. (Minicom is a fairly standard terminal program.)
