I have a RASCAL. Don't see my model number on their web page anymore, =
but I
just got one with an 8 pin mic connector.
Has RF chokes (torids) on the audio connectors for the PC. The PCB is a
simple one with no platting or masking. And is the same for all models =
(I
think) as it has extra holes. This comes in handy if you want to build =
your
own attenuator in addition to that supplied, as I did.
My only gripe is that the enclosure is worthless (gift for one of your
kids??) I got a decent one at Radio Shack and used it.
You will need to verify with the K2 manual/schematic (or however you =
have
set up) the Mic jack on the K2.
I added a DB9 male connector to my RS enclosure, passed the RXD, TXD, =
GND
(signal not chassis) to this connector. This allows the use of just one
port for operating the K2 in PSK, RTTY, SSTV, etc. I REALLY like this =
with
the auto frequency changing, logging, etc that MixW2 has
To make K2Remote and K2Voice happy you need to have pins 7 and 8 (RTS - =
CTS)
tied together. This limits the PSK programs that you can use as these =
are
usually the pins used for keying the rig. Maybe someone knows how to =
jumper
these with diodes and make both happy. For now I just use both serial =
ports
on the PC and switch connectors on the back of the K2.=20
