There are several oscilloscope tutorials on the web.
I think you could find them by searching on "oscilloscope tutorial".
Good luck and 73

Subject: OT - RE: [Elecraft] 60 Mhz 3 Ch Oscilloscope
Hi Folks:
I, like Lyle Johnson, saw that advertisement and opted to "invest 1/2 of
my inheritance" in a device that I have never had but always felt a
needed to make my "test bench" complete.
Now that I have one, HOW CAN I BEST USE IT? In the almost 50 years of
being a ham, (30+) years of being OTA) I never did learn how to use a
'scope' to take advantage of its maximum potential. Maybe I don't
really need one, but now I do have it and wish to make the investment
worth while. Besides, it fills the empty space on the shelf and looks
pretty cool when the CRT has a trace (even a test trace) displayed.
So, I come to this august body with the request. Please point me in the
correct direction to find a (any) "low-tech" treatise on basic
oscilloscope operation, applications, maintenance, care, calibration,
ETC. You all get the idea.
A further note on this particular piece of equipment: (1) The machining
finish on the cabinetry is lacking in regard to cabinet seams meeting
flush. A few more pan-head screws probably would have done the trick
and not raise the cost from $300.00 to $400.00. (2) The manual , while
sparsely adequate, is lacking when going from Korean to English. I know
that my grips are basically "cosmetic", but if those exist, maybe there
is something else that I am not expert enough to appreciate at this
time. Hopefully, with help from folks like those of you that are on
this list, my knowledge base will rise exponentially in the next few weeks.
Thanks to all who reply, I am much indebted to you all. BTW, I receive
the list in digest form and will not be able to reply until tomorrow.
Answering off-list, directly, will get a more speedy response from me,
and not clutter the list with OT material that many people might not be
interested in.
