Andreas:

I also used the GU3MBS method and am satisfied with the results. =
However, I
have found that correcting the 4.00 MHZ oscillator means that you need =
to
also reset the XFIL setpoints. You do not need to use Spectrogram just =
get
the frequency reprogrammed into the MCU. This is done by going through =
each
XFIL position and changing the count by one or two digits (see page 85) =
and
then moving on to the next. If your oscillator frequency (and WWV) was =
way
off then you may need to do the calibration more than once.=20

I did it three times and got WWV at 5, 10, and 20 within about +/- 20, =
this
after a one hour warmup (the same time that I waited before calibrating =
the
clock.

Hope this helps.

Rich,
KE0ZX

Subject: [Elecraft] 4 Mhz Oscillator calibration

Hi,

I used the method mentioned by GU3MBS late November. The method works
very good. However, I am not sure in which direction to move in order to
get the optimal calibration. Here are the 2 WWV QRGs that I tried:

K2 display delta
10,000.07 + 70 Hz
19,999.80 - 200 Hz

Even worse, on the 2 points the deltas are not in the same direction.
Has anyone seen this before? I have seem messages in this list before
with ops claiming +-20Hz. Is this on one frequency only or across the
bands?

K2 2555, A2B mods applied.

Any ideas are appreciated.
