Hello,
Well, I have for the most part rationalized to myself that the $49.00 to
bring my unbuilt Rev A K2 up to rev B was worth it. I was a bit frustrated
again, however when 2 weeks after receiving the KAT100 that problems were
identified with the SWR display (I'm not sure of other problems) and that
new firmware REV 1.04 was available for another $29.
I'm sure wishing that we had the Ten-Tec option of downloading new firmware.
I don't know how much more reprogrammable parts would be, but it seems like
the cost for 2 or 3 upgrades might pay for it.
Now I know $29 isn't the end of the world, and that other companies would
not offer an upgrade of anything close to this price. And I also understand
that a company this size cannot afford to test new equipment for 1000's of
hours and try every permutation and leave it up to the end users to wring
out the little bugs. Maybe I should get a crystal ball so I would quit
ordering new kits right before the fixes come out :) Okay, I have vented and
feel better already. Thanks for listening.
