[Elecraft] CQ160m contest

I read the comments about what the K2/100s have done. Now for some
real QRP!

I had a bash in CQ160 but did not expect to work very much. My QTH is
far too small for any decent size antennas and has very poor ground.
A 30ft base loaded vertical has to suffice, and it performs very
poorly. I surprised myself in making 100 QSOs and a claimed score of
11,200 using just 5W from my K2. Each QSO was a struggle, with
frequent requests for repeats, and I felt I must have been the
weakest signal on the band. However I amazed myself at 2343z last
night when I worked VY2ZM (PEI) for my first transatlantic QSO on
160m QRP. It was doubly surprising as there was a solar disturbance
around 0000z on the 26th and all signals were way down yesterday
compared with what they were on Saturday.

Do not discount what you can do with a QRP K2 on top band!
