It is likely that you are referring to the "PLL and BFO Temperature
Stability" modification.  This removes the two PLL crystals and replaces
them with only one.  A side effect of this modification is narrower BFO
range but that is not what is actually being attempted.  It is the better
temperature stability of the single crystal that is important.  There is no
reason to want a narrower range.

You did not mention your serial number but if it is above 3000 that you are
all set.  Otherwise you would order the BFOMDKT from Elecraft.
