The knob discussion is really a focus on customization of your
K2.

Recently the Collins reflector took a poll to determine what Collins =
part and how much=20
they would be willing to pay for  reproduction / replacement on their =
"A" or "S" series equipment.
Earlier that month, the 4:1 gear set and knob (for the A series) was =
privately produced --=20
and sold out within the month

You guessed it, the weighted knob was very high on the list.

BTW,  the old Kenwood KB-1 weighted knob (machined aluminum)=20
that I used on my former TS-530S - now sells for over $ 80 on eBay -- =
when I see one!
At this rate - it will be more expensive than the used radio in 5 to 10 =
years.
