[Elecraft] A thought from Down Under

I for one am glad that we can talk about trivia such as K2 knobs, filter
alignments, etc., despite the uncertainties of today's world. It is a bit
of sanity in an insane world.
For me, ham radio is an escape from many of the pressures of life. I can go
out and fight my dragons each day, come home and handle my family
responsibilities, and then after everyone else retires for the evening I can
fire up my K2 and listen for a CQ while I dink around with one
electronic/software/etc. project or another... and disengage.
I consider it a blessing that, despite September 11th, things aren't so grim
we can't discuss which hunk of what material would look/feel/work the best
on our radios... and that those of us on this eList don't live with the
constant fear and worry that many in the Third World do concerning their
personal needs and even their personal security. We are very fortunate, and
we shouldn't forget that.
