Thanks....it's nice to have a sanity check now and again, especially as
one gets older and forgets more (g).

We'll just have to agree to disagree...my experience in a communication
service that predates the internet is that a properly moderted
confoerence(list) simply doesn't get out of hand and seen in QRP-L.

I maintain the drakelist list...and the day that it gets as bad as
QRP-l is the day that I simply thank everyone for their participation and
turn it off.

The tenor of a list, like this one, is set by the participants and the
owners...and this list excells because the of the nature of the members
and the elecraft folks. If Elecraft acted as an "absentee landlord", the
list would suffer.

I can testify to the effect of active list owner participation. There have
been instances when I've crossed the line and made postsd here that are
either not appropriate and/or on topic...and in each instance, whether via
email or general posts to the list, the Elecraft folks have admonished
the transgressions in a way that corrected the problem and did NOT
drive away the offender...and that's a tremendous plus for the the list.

Yes, it's hard to imagine how difficult it was to share information in
the pre-internet days.
