[Elecraft] KBT1 connectors

'Crafters,

I purchased the KBT1 a while ago, but have not installed it
yet because I have been looking for a decent way of
removing the KBT1 lid when not in use. The KBT1 is normally
hard-wired to the main board, so it makes it difficult to
separate the two when needed.

The biggest concern with most of the connectors is the
potential to have an exposed connector tip bouncing around
inside the K1 case when the KBT1 lid/battery pack is not
installed. I went to a local R/C hobby store and viola! They
had the connectors used for the batteries on R/C cars.

They are white plastic, snap-secured, and the tips are
completely shielded on both the male and female connectors.
They will handle up to 12-14 gauge wire and it only cost $2
for two pair. The hobby store also had the same connectors
pre-wired with 3-in pigtails (each end) already attached for
about the same price (though for one).

Anyway, hope this is of some use.

Cheers,
Colin
