He's not talking about the toroid winding mod (which I don't recommend either),
but the DK3RED mod which just adds a resistor to the power control so it won't
go over 5 watts.  I don't think this is so useful (if you want to only run 5w,
then don't turn it past 5w), but at least doesn't cause trouble with SSB.

But whatever method he uses, it should involve Spectrogram or a similar
program.  The by-ear methods don't compare!
