Kevin,

Using 5 watts will increase battery life, but you *can* easily run 10 watts from
the K2's internal battery. I did extensive tests and was able to get 10 watts
out on most bands down to 9.5 volts, with absolutely no instability or chirp.
(Try that on other rigs  ;)

Correct. We greatly appreciate the efforts of our field testers for each new
accessory. But the K1 and K2 FTs went way out on a limb buying expensive and
unproven kits, and qualify for something like "pioneer" status. Since there are
only a couple hundred of them, they'll provide QSO hunters with two interesting
and rare species to go after.
