Folks,

This is a bit off topic, but is an item which may be of interest to 
other Elecrafters...

Radio Shack currently has on sale their RCA XTS-50AV multimedia 
speakers. They are usually $20 each, and are currently on sale for $9.99 
each. The cabinet is essentially a 5" cube, made out of wood, and 
covered with a black wood-grain vinyl covering, and a perforated 
black-painted metal covering over the front. They also employ magnetic 
shielding so that they can be mounted next to a computer monitor.

I bought one for my K2, and a second one for my ICOM 746PRO, and the 
speaker sounds better than ICOM's $250 matching speaker for the 746/756. 
It sounds great with the K2, and since it's so small, it sits nicely 
atop the K2 (unless you're using the K2's stand).

I have no idea how long this sale will last, or if possibly they are 
only on sale because they will be discontinued. But after seeing and 
hearing them, it's something I wanted to make known to the group.
