I also like to use my dual VFO's on my K2 instead of my RIT as the main =
knob is much nicer to tune and I fiddle with my receiver frequency =
constantly. Instead of Ron's method of tuning in the split mode and =
tapping the equal key, I have always tuned in the normal mode and after =
zero beating the other station, I tap equal and hold for split. Does =
the same thing except if I forget and just start sending, I am at least =
on the same freq. as the other station. =20
As far as the RIT knob is concerned, I remember a comment in the QST =
review about the RIT pot not having a center detent. I have another =
rig (Oak Hills 500) that does not have dual VFO'S, so I need to use the =
RIT knob. It has a center detent and I wish it didn't as it is hard to =
make very small changes close to the detent. The knob "recenters" on =
its own when I release it. I will probably change to a pot with no =
detent. 73 Rick K7MW =20
