Greeting & Happy New Year: To all who would care to read/respond
Before I installed my KPA100, I seem to remember that the receiver recovery
time after band change was very short (500 msec is nominal according to Gary).
Since the installation of the KPA100, receiver recovery of 500 msec
occurs only on 40m, 20m and 15m. This seems just as it did before the KPA100
addition. On 160m, 80m, 30m, 17m, 12m and 10m the receiver recovery is anywhere
from 5-10 secs. It doesn't matter from which direction you change
from/to, ie. going up or down and/or if an antenna is connected. The normal
recovery on 40m, 20m and 15m also doesn't matter from which direction the
change is made either. There is no change whether the AGC is ON, FAST or
SLOW, OFF,. Also installed are the KNB2, KAF2, K160RX and the KSB2 modules.
Having taken out the KNB2 and the KAF2 to see if this made any difference,
it did not. Also, it made no difference with the KPA100 removed from the
K2. All other systems seem to be working fine, well in spec. Is it possible
that on one of my excursions during testing, the stray RF fried a component?
Although if that were the case, why are 40, 20 and 15 OK?
Please respond to my e-mail address as I only get the reflector 1/day.
