Tom;
One Mistake, One slight design change:
1. There was a bad solder joint on the control board giving me bum
current readings from my gel cell (it was reading 5.2 amps!);
2. Had to add a capacitor on the back near L33 to compensate for xtals
that don't have quite the capacitive bandwidth as the batch used to design
the board. This was causing me to have only 3.6khz of bandwidth on the
BFO test. There'll probably be something published on the web site on
this. The German dood (DF7TV) has a nice picture of what he did with his
xtal here: http://www.qsl.net/df7tv/k2_3105.html. I did something similar
but with a 4.7pf cap.
   So not much for the group, really. I've learned a BUNCH and I'm almost
ready to begin the final alignment (most of the rest of the components
are now installed and inspected). I am sure I will learn a ton more in
the next few days!
73, Martin
