[Elecraft] Random Wire???

"Hell all"??? Opps!

In the past I have used both 100' and 60' sections of random wire. Used
the same wire for lamps [2 conductor] and got the 100' length. Split
the wire into two sections [ant/ counterpoise]. Then used MFJ tuner
with the 4:1 balun and was cooking.

At this length gives you some room for creative antenna layouts, roof,
trees, bushes, what ever is handy. The 60' length. I found this a
handy setup while traveling.

Subject: [Elecraft] Random Wire???

Hell All:

I have my K2 all built and ready to go. Now the hard part, I have to
figure a
way to run an antenna.

My question is how do I connect a random wire type antenna to my K2?

If I use a random wire antenna do I HAVE to have an antenna tuner?

What is the best type of wire to use?

I saw a post on a message board where someone posted, "It is a 35 foot
piece of
Radio Shack white wire wrap wire tossed into a 25 foot high tree (the
tallest
thing I could find) threaded"

How would I connect such an antenna?

Thanks,
David, KG6MTI
