[Elecraft] phantom K2 front panel LED

I could have sworn I saw a photo on the Web of someone's
K2 assembly stages and their appeared to be a green LED poking
out to the right of the tuning knob. (This was with the board
bare and not inside the metal panel.)

Am I imagining it? What is the LED for?

Now I see a mention in the K2 manual, page 90, of
an app note to add a split/RIT/XIT LED to the front 
panel. I can't find that app note on Elecraft's site...
