It was a pleasure to read your posting, you should send it to one of the
magazines.
I too try to spend some time each day using a computer program to =
perfect my
CW. However I am still trying to master the Iambic Keyer. I have found
that MixW is a little more particular than CWGet, but that it misses the
first letter more often.=20
My idol is the HAM/Rail-Road Dispatcher that knew both American and
International Morse code and could copy either at 30-40 WPM while =
discussing
the football game with you, and not miss a letter. He said the letters =
just
went from his ears to the keys and he didn't have to even think of them. =
He
also had earned several ARRL high speed certificates. He has been a SK =
for
many years but I still am trying to get there. Occasionally I come =
across
some QSOs when playing with MixW in CW mode that look like ARRL is =
sending
them, and worse yet, the QSO switches from OP to OP like they were =
talking,
no BK, BTU, call sign, just a normal transition from one to the other. =
One
of these days that might be me. I now keep a copy of the ARRL high speed
bulletins in the car and listen to it every day as I drive to and from =
work.
Every once in a while I hear a "word" instead of random letters so I =
guess
it is helping.
