[Elecraft] Question about K2 pre-amp

I did notice a slight drop in received audio when doing the "scratchy pot"
mod, but in my fairly quiet shack the audio level is between 9 O' clock and
10 O' Clock - I'm listening to CW on 80m at the moment without the pre-amp
on the K2 internal speaker.
