Joe-
I've been using CW send/receive programs since the late '70's using a
Timex Sinclair. Played around with quite a few and even wrote my own. As
of late I'm been using CwGet and CwType, both shareware. Both worth
the extra fee if you like them.
Computerized brass-pounding can be a gas, but can have it's limitations.
It will not de-code a bad fist and if you have a noisy computer you're
limited to only copying strong signals. Most of the computer trash comes
from the monitor. I use a lap-top, nothing fancy, just an old 100 Mhz
pentium. Much quieter than yyour usual desktop machine.
Interesting thing that happens when you start using one for a while is
without trying your manual reading of the code gets better. I believe it
has to do with hearing the code and then seeing it. Somehow it sticks in
the noggin.
