Folks,

Had to put my money where my mouth was....

Went down stairs around 0530z and tuned around 30m, heard sigs! A
Phoenix station calling CQ, a Seattle station working a JA! didn't
hear the JA, shucks. After a while I set up shop around 10115 and
called CQ. A few minutes later a very weak (339) station calls me and
we have a nice chat for 10 min, until the QSB gobbled him up. The
station was WB4DCW, Mike in TN. He was running 1 watt! And, it was the
first contact he made with the rig he was using!! I think we all know
how cool that feels. So there you go, 30m works late at night under
poor solar CONDX (SFI ~120, K=4 YUK!).

I'm taking the results of this little experiment as a sign that 30m
should not be ignored. Any time of day, any time of year, any phase of
the current sunspot cycle!

Are you in?

*** Happy Holidays ***
