While calling CQ during the Flea Fest tonight I got to thinking, had a
lot of time to do that. ;-) Why don't we play on 30m more?

Many of use live in compromise antenna situations. The antenna for 30m
is shorter and can be lower. Advantage 30m.

30m has a power limit. Advantage 30m (to us low power types)

QRM from Digi/SSB on 30 is less than 40 IMHO. Advantage 30m

No contests on 30. Advantage 40m (not a biggie for me)

No foxhunts on 30. Advantage 40m for many.

You may not have license privileges on 30m. Advantage 40? Nope. Can
you think of a better reason to upgrade? Advantage 30m.

Propagation on 30 is more interesting, kinda like 40, open somewhere
always it seems. Kinda like 20 with interesting DX possibilities.

30 has "numbers stations"! ;-)

Now there are those who may think that with sunspot activity
decreasing, 30 should be avoided. I say nay; I say prove it.

I bet when that new NorCal 30 hits the streets 30 will se more action.
Elecraft owners, how about trying for the CC on 30m? Don't have a 30m
rig? Good excuse to buy a new kit and melt some solder.

Frankly, I can't think of reason not to use 30 more often. I for one
will be using 30m more. See you there?
