Good morning List,

Yesterday I had to scrounge up a couple of parts that weren't in my kit and
I finished building and aligning it late last night.  Tuned up on 40 meters
and heard I1MMR calling CQ.  I answered him running 15 watts and he came
back with a report of 339.  At least it was working.  This morning on 20
meters running 5 watts, I called a station in PA and after a nice QSO with
him, 3 more stations called me, one after the other.  IN, PA again, and MN.
All with good signal reports.

I know I have a lot to learn about how to use all the features on this radio
but so far I think it is great.  Scott is sending me the parts I mentioned.
When I get them I will replace 2 caps that I used that were not quite the
same value and do another alignment.  Then more operating and learning.

This was the first kit building I had done in many years.  I built numerous
Heath Kits when they were in business but things have changed somewhat since
then.  Future plans include KPA100 and KAT100.
