Well, as I said a few weeks back, I am of the impression that the
Elecraft list has one of the HIGHEST signal-to-noise ratios of the
several lists I am on. 

Try an Internet _newsgroup_ sometime, if you want an ultra-low s/n!

As for the bragging messages -- perhaps I am coming from a different
direction, but when I say that I have worked XX countries on the K1,
I am saying so meaning "Hey! Look! I'm up to where you guys are now!"
not "Hey! I'm a lot better than you!" Know what I mean? 

And the "S/N XXXX completed, first QSO R1ANF" messages are fine with
me, too, because that tells me how much old rev inventory has been 
purged from the shelves. ;-)
