[Elecraft] Remoting K2's KPA100 and KAT100 - what to buy?

Hi,

I have the KPA100 working build into the K2. It is, as expected, great!
Now, I would love to get it remote so I have a way to grab the K2 for
camping, backpacking, etc without changing covers.  2 Questions arise
(could not figure the answers by looking at the 2 websites explaining
the process):

1. I know I have to order the EC2. I know I have to have a high front
panel and a half-height back panel (since the KPA100 has part of the
back panel).  The KAT100-2 seems to come with 2 high panels. I think I
would be missing the half-height back panel than.  Can anyone enlighten
me?



2. I am thinking about getting the KAT2 for the QRP version.  Do I have
to change settings when picking up the K2/QRP for the field or will it
just magically use the KAT2 once the KAT100 is disconnected?
