Embedded systems do not have to be either flavour. My personal favorite
controller, which includeds an integral ethernet controller, IP stack,
source for DIY Web server, telnet, ftp server etc is the Rabbit series. I
work with them a lot. At home I use one as an auto-tuner for my mag loops.
One day (when I've finished the K2 Dump & Save) I'll connect up a rabbit to
the K2 as a web server for remote operation, and add screaming audio.
