Balanced inputs are available for both the 602A and 802A mixers. All of the
main channel inputs can be either balanced or unbalanced, depending upon how
the input connector (plug) is wired.
As to making a direct connection to J5 in the K2, I do not know either the
signal or the impedance levels at that point so I cannot say whether or not
you should connect to the mixer from J5. I suggest that you run this by the
Elecraft lads for their advice. I think that the isolation and gain provided
by the internal audio amp driving the speaker output unbalanced is the way
to go since I have used this connection for some time now with no
difficulties. The 802A mixer inputs are quite forgiving of impedance level
departures from the ideal line-level standards. They will accommodate input
signals from +10 dBu to -40 dBu.
Anyone interested in using these mixers is urged to download the operating
manuals from
http://www.behringer.com
This documentation will include a block diagram of the mixer which will
explain a great deal of how the mixer performs its functions with various
input and output connections.
One bit of confusion re the 802A: one set of specs being quoted at one time
claimed that the master buss outputs were balanced. The Behringer specs show
that they are unbalanced. The balanced output viewpoint was based upon the
installation of optional balanced output transformers available from
Behringer. The basic unit coming from Guitar Center or your favorite audio
dealer will have unbalanced outputs unless the transformers have been
installed at extra cost, which I understand is substantial..

Hello,
Was reading the messages regarding the 602/802a mixer and was wondering if
the mixer could be fed with the balanced audio available at J5 (aux af out)
on the RF board. If so, what would be the proper way to interface it? Could
you use the balanced input of the mixer and just make a direct connection to
J5?
