As (I hope) someone will recall, in the KPA100 there is a 1000 pf capacitor
across the output transformer, C83. At the beginning of the field test it was
1200 pf, but Elecraft reduced it to 1000 pf to improve efficiency on 10 meters.
I remember that Wayne and Eric wanted to be sure that this wouldn't cause
instability before they made it permanent.
Now, my question is: what kind of instability were they worried about? Was it
a possibility of oscillation at the operating frequency?
I want to know because I'm trying to stabilize another amplifier -- my KPA100
works great!
