                Read about your K2 problem......you are the 7th K2 owner I
  know of in NZ. I am in Whangarei. I know of others in Havelock North,
 Waimaku , Christchurch (x2) and Waima near Kaikohe and myself and
  another here in Whangarei.
  I am sure we will help you if we can, but the Reflector is the best source
  of help you will get...apart from calling Gary Surrency who is the
official
  fault finder for Elecraft rigs at "Elecraft Technical support",and is
  available at gary@elecraft.com
 If that doesn't work, I could suggest you courier the suspect control board
 up and I could compare it with mine. I also have two spare MCU's that
 have been replaced with upgrades as I added the KPA100 and KAT100.
