[Elecraft] updates on K2 #771

I just got done installing some updates to my over 3 year old K2.  Lisa sent
me the parts I ordered and they took just 2 days to get to NC from Aptos.  2
days!  Even the USPS gets the Elecraft mojo!

I did the VFO ALC mod, the 10/12 clean-it-up mod, the BFO mod, and the TF3MA
sinewave sidetone mod.  I added a 1 Megohm resistor across the 3.3M resistor
on the control board to make QSK a bit quicker.  I also recalibrated the 4
MHz oscillator and re-ran CAL PLL and CAL FIL.

Isn't it amazing?  A radio that good, gets a major upgrade for less than the
cost of a half tank of gas?  I was totally happy (and I'm a VERY picky guy!)
with the K2 beforehand.  Perfect in every way.

Now, it's EVEN BETTER than perfect!  (The sidetone mod alone was shockingly
effective, and I had the WJ4P mod in place before.) Like a fine wine,
apparently K2 radios improve with age.

PS:  anybody have a sidetone mod for the K1 that works as well as the K2 mod
from TF3MA?  I have a spare 47 mH choke...
