[Elecraft] This mixer may interest some

Right, John, but (a) it was unavailable locally when I got the 802A and (b)
it would not fit where the 802 has to live! <:}
Actually, I find that I change any settings so seldom that knobs or sliders
really wouldn't matter that much. But, the extra channels and busses would
be nice to have. As it is, the 802 is able to handle four transceivers'
receive audio, two mics, one side channel to the soundcard and another to
some audio rack equipment and its return, plus provide a monitor signal for
one scope channel and drive the power amp to the speaker cabinets. And I
still have one open channel available! Plus an open stereo input for the
minidisc recorder I hope to get some day.
Bob Heil once remarked that I was the first person he had ever seen use
every available connector on a 602A!
And, right on, Behringer produces audio equipment that is near top-line
pro-audio in quality at affordable prices. The little 602A for example will
serve as an excellent interface between the computer and your rig for around
half the cost of the deluxe dedicated digital-mode interfaces.

Or, if you want *REAL* faders for the channels and not just knobs, you may
want to consider the MX1604A. It was only slightly more expensive than
the 802A when I got it. It has 4 busses and 16 channels. Very nice
unit. It is what I use in my shack and can be seen in action at:

Oh, one more comment: You can't go wrong with Behringer. I also have one
of their large 24 channel boards.
