Noticed that my VFO was doing some strange freq shifts during the FYBO
this weekend - first time
I've really used it since doing the BFO stability mod. In doing the PLL
Reference Oscillator Test, I find
that the range has gone from its original 15kHz to only 11.3kHz. The
manual says it should shift a minimum
of 12kHz. I listened to the receiver some more and determined that it
is doing a frequency jump every
5kHz - 7006.12, 7011.12, 7.016.12, etc. Do I need a new xtal?

Oh the VCO voltages had changed very slightly from the original, but
still well within the ballpark.
