I run a 2-way radio shop and have a tool that I bought from Bendix/King
Radio back about 15 years ago. It is a tube (with square sides to put a
wrench on) and on each end it is a different diameter with 2 opposing teeth
that the fit the slots on the knurled nuts. One side for the 2.5mm and the
other side for the 3.5mm type. It's been an invaluable tool ever since.
The Bendix/King portables had two jacks on the side, a 2.5 for the earphone
and a 3.5 for Rf. So there is a tool out there...Relm Communications now
owns the B/K radio line and don't know if they still offer the tool...but I
will check on Monday. If it's available I would consider buying a large qty
of these and supplying the group.
