Jeff,

I am not in L.A., but you might want to try setting the SSB FL1 the way I
usually do:

First, set Spectrogram markers at 300 Hz and 2300 Hz.
Then adjust the BFO for FL1 so the filter bandpass is centered between those
two markers. Do the same for both sidebands.

That should give you usable on the air audio unless you have a very unusual
voice - but you may want to change it a bit to 'fine tune' things. Have
someone familiar with your voice listen on their receiver - or record the
output of a separate receiver (should you have one available) tuned to the
transmit frequency of your K2 (operate the K2 into a dummy load). I do not
recommend listening with phones to a separate receiver because it is hard
to discern the receiver output from the sound conduction through the bones
in one's head.

Once you get a good analysis of your voice signal, decide if it is too high
pitched, too low pitched or just right. If your voice seems too high
pitched, lower the Spectrogram markers (I suggest by 25 or 50 Hz at a time)
then re-align the BFOs so the passband is centered between these new
markers. Conversely if the voice is too low, set the markers to a higher
pitch. When it sounds right, stop - you are done with FL1.

You may adjust the other SSB filters for whatever audio passband suits your
ears on reception, FL1 is always used for transmit no matter which filter
you are using for receive. In fact, several ops set the OP1 filter at both
the FL1 and FL2 filters with FL1 optimized for transmit.and FL2 optimized
for receive.
