This is a very interesting project, and I wish you well.

I had been looking at something similar for the K2 but under the gnu public
license and do not want to "tread on your toes" so I'm seeking your feedback
on your approach. If you approach is similar to mine, then I'll stop!

I have written a text/audio feedback-based tool for a very similar
application for a bunch of busy non-technical people who do not have the
time to look down at the equipment and check status. The approach for that
has eveolved from user feedback and I would be inclined to copy that method.

I have mind DOS type commands rather than menu selection to reduce the
amount of text scrolling on the screen, eg commands such as:

"B" - switch to vfo A
"?A" - show the frequency of VFO A
"ZA" - report any changes to the frequency of VFO A as it is tuned around
the dial
"? "  - display most common commands
"??" - display all commands
"T" - tune
X1 - Select Xfilter 1
X2 - Select Xfilter 2
?S - Ave current Signal Level
P5 - set power level to 5
K20 - set keyer to 20 WPM

If this appreoach is vastly different from yours, I will press on, otherwise
I'll stop and so avoid duplicating effort!!!!!
