[Elecraft] Building K2 Control Board

Because you will now have the keying on the socket in the wrong
direction...I would go raid the wifes nail polish and make a mark onthe
opposite end to mark pin1. The positioning of the socket isn't a big thing
right now..but if you don't mark it well and you do a firmware upgrade in
the future you might make a mistake and put it in backwards. So mark it
with polish and maybe put a label on the IC about the mistake and also
reference it in the manual and board layouts. Otherwise I really wouldn't
worry about it.

Subject: [Elecraft] Building K2 Control Board

Hi folks, this is my first post. I am building the K2 Control Board and
mistakenly installed the 40 pin IC socket for U6 (the microcontroller) with
the
notch to the right instead of to the left. I had trouble getting the pins to

drop in and didn't want to bend them, so I ended up with the board turned
left
for right -- and put the socket in that way. Will it make any difference?

Thanks,
Fred w2xn
