It will work fine. But you MUST make some sort of mark on the "Real" pin #1
end, that's WAY more obvious than the notch. It may be 2 years or more (or
someone else doing it) before that chip is pulled and replaced, and if it's
put back "frontwards", well let's just say that would be bad<g>

Bright Pink #1 in fingernail polish at the appropriate end might do the
trick!

Hi folks, this is my first post. �I am building the K2 Control Board and
mistakenly installed the 40 pin IC socket for U6 (the microcontroller) with
the
notch to the right instead of to the left. �I had trouble getting the pins
to
drop in and didn't want to bend them, so I ended up with the board turned
left
for right -- and put the socket in that way. �Will it make any difference? �
