[Elecraft] KAT100 - Remote Use

I am thinking about purchasing Elecraft equipment including the KAT100 
AutoTuner. The KAT100 manual indicates longer control cables can be used, 
however, no length is specified. I would like to use the KAT100 remotely (about 
30 feet) from the K2 by connecting them with a 8 conductor cable (rotor cable) 
for control and of course a coax cable. The control cable and coax cable run  
within the walls of my house to my shack. I operate with no more than 100 watts 
so I doubt RF would get into the control cable. I plan to run ladder line from 
a center fed wire antenna through a balun to the KAT100. Both the balun and 
KT100  would be mounted inside at the ladder line entry point. Has anyone used 
the KAT100 remotely (30 feet or more)?
