John suggests something simple. I was just thinking that RS232 signals ought
to go on twisted pair. The Davis Instruments folks supply the gizmo with
ribon cable (standard telephone 4 conductior crap). Maybe all I need is some
CAT-5 (12 twists per inch).

Try winding a coil (series inductor) of several turns laid out neatly
solenoid fashion on a plastic bottle about 2 inches diameter on the
computer end of the sensor cable. It worked for me.
