That is a really interesting observation, Tim.  It got me thinking ... it
might actually be helpful that the person doing the inventory to NOT have a
knowledge of electronics.  I would not be surprised if a person with some
knowledge might not be as thorough or might make assumptions, rather than
being careful ....

Also, it could be a great way to get XYL's and kids interested and involved
... especially kids -- they love to do puzzles!

About 20 years ago, not too long after my wife Teri and I were first
married,
I built a Heathkit HW-8 rig. The first part of that task was to take
inventory of the parts.

Tonight, just like twenty years ago, Teri sat with me at the kitchen table
and we took inventory, this time of the K1 parts. She has no knowledge of
radios or electronics but you gotta love a wife that will sit and read off
resistor color codes, capacitor numbers, and count screws while you go down
the checklist. Looks like another great 20 years ahead!
