(f * 0) + (d - s) = l (Length of trailing counterpoise).
where:
f: Frequency in THz
d: Distance to the guy walking behind you
s: A saftey factor, typically 2
So, if someone is walking 8 feet behind you, and you are operating on
0.00000704 THz, use a 6 foot wire.

Subject: [Elecraft] pedestrian portable
Hi,
I feel for lack of motivation for walking to work, I would like to add my
own spice to the menu, and go pedestrian portable with the K2 and maybe
the Hamstick or the July 2002 QST portable HF antenna.
I have in mind to use the external frame of my backpack and use an
L-bracket that I will make to set the antenna on, and maybe get a front
pouch from PetSmart for carrying the K2. And a wire dragging.
Any ideas? What is the equation for selecting the length of the dragging
wire?
Daniel
