L-Length of dragging wire
H-Height of person carrying pedestrian backpack
A-Amount of people in the vicinity of dragging wire
G-Number of angry people trying to avoid dragging wire
T-Number of people who stepped on dragging wire per unit time (s)

L=H+G/A*T
Note as A approaches 0, L goes to infinity.

Alternative is to not use a dragging wire and just some metal material such
as the aluminum backpack frame and perhaps some wire bunched up in the
bottom of the backpack. After all you're only TX QRP Power and will get out
quite well with a good antenna like a outbacker joey.

Regards,
Robert VE3RPF
