[Elecraft] K2 - K2/100 drift issue different for each rig?

Hi everyone - 
  I don't ever remember being concerned about any drift issues when my K2 was a K2. It seems as though it loomed up after the K2 became a K2100 and everybody started talking about it - was this an "issue" with the K2 or just the K2/100? If it was just the k2100 - would building separates ala the K2 with and ECS for the amp make a difference? 
  Also, does the current crop of new K2 kits still require mods or have ALL the mods been incorporated (BFO mod,etc etc)? Thanks for reading.
