A 40-meter center-fed dipole at 2m above ground should be 20.5333m long
for resonance at 7040 kHz according to EZNEC3. This translates to about
67' 4-25/64". The feedpoint resistance is about 64 ohms. This assumes
nothing else nearby to influence the length or impedance.
This works out to L(feet) = 474.25664/f(MHz) if you want to estimate the
length of a 20m dipole.
"Average" soil conductivity was used in the model using the real/high
accuracy algorithm.
