 From your last sentence I gather that you believe the af gain mod may
be the reason you are not happy with the KDSP2.  Since making that mod
is on my very short list of K2 things undone (another being installing
the new shield on the PA), this topic interests me!  Why do you think that?

The post that I read here was maybe a month or two ago.

when I read it,  I thought,  "wow someone else is thinking the same thing I
am about this DSP unit"

as I recall he was thinking about putting his audio filter back in too.
Then the post went on to say that he did the AF GAIN MOD and the audio
sounded so much better he was going to stick with the DSP.

My initial impressions after installing the KDSP2 were:

the audio was louder,  like I had turned the volume up a couple of notches.

when the NR was engaged I could definetly notice a difference in noise
reduction.  Strong stations were still intelligible,  but weakers stations
would disappear,  almost like there was a delay.

I did try different settings on the NR without much luck.

maybe you could share the settings you found worked well for you and I will
try them,  but when I read that post I had hope that the AF GAIN MOD would
cure my woes...

my only experience with DSP  was on a Ten Tec  Jupiter I owned and I thought
the NR on that radio was incredible.
