You might want to provide more info:
o Which rig?
o Internal (or external) ATU or not?
o Bands you plan to operate?
o What are your DX expectations?
o Wire antennas (e.g., dipoles, wire fed against a counterpoise) not
considered?
o Single location or moving from day to day?
SORRY! K1 WITH ATU, 30 M IS BANNED SO I SUPPOSE 40 AND 20 M. AS A BEGINNER
AND LID, A PILEUP WOULD HAVE A DIURETIC EFFECT :-) *** My K1's ATU failed to
tune the 20 and 30 m bands when a 40 m halfwave dipole was used. Still: on
40 m, with the wire almost touching the lawn, I casually worked some
countries about 2,000 miles away with 4 W. // I just saw a Huster 4-BTV gets
good reviews and is quite value for money. - The fact that the import of
transceivers is s t r i c t l y banned means I wouldn't want to draw
attention by hauling a big antenna threw customs :-). 72 and a Happy New
Year to All, Chris KF6VCI / HS0ZFE
