Thanks to all who had suggestions; I took out the SSB module to do some 
basic voltage testing in the transmitter section this evening and the power 
output problem disappeared.  This suggests to me that there is a problem 
with the SSB module, or its connection to (or interaction with) something 
on the RF board.  Since I've never worked SSB and I'm not *that* interested 
in it, debugging the SSB module problem is a back-burner task--I'm just 
tickled pink that my PA transistors are okay and that I've got CW transmit 
capability again.

I'll soon be disturbing the ether again.

P.S.--And yes, I did replace the two jumpers and the capacitor that I 
removed from the RF board when I installed the SSB module.  :-)
